Some of the best tropical rainforest in the world is within one hour of Cairns. There are two main areas, one is west of Cairns and explores the Tablelands which is famous for fresh water volcanic crater lakes, beautiful waterfalls and huge strangler fig trees.

The other great spot is to the north and explores the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation. Here you will find endless beaches, pristine forests, freshwater swimming and the stealth ancient predator – the estuarine crocodile.
